Understanding that the commerce sector is vital for community development, Hetal “HP” Patel decided to start her career in real estate five years ago. “The best way to contribute to a community is by adding business to the neighborhood,” she says. “As a Realtor, I can help someone buy a home, an investment property or open a business in the community.”
Broker and vice president of the commercial division at Main Street Real Estate Group, Patel grew up in Park Ridge and has lived in the in neighborhoods from Lincoln Park to Pilsen and now, on the West Side. “The past 20 years, I have lived in communities experiencing a lot of development and commercial growth, which helped me understand the local market needs,” she explains. “I truly believe a connection with your community will help develop a deeper appreciation for your town and the people who live there.” Her passion for the public transpiration system has helped her understand the urban lifestyle from a suburban one. She frequently uses a commercial database for researching and analyzing different neighborhoods. She also enjoys taking photos and using a drone to showcase various areas on social media.
Known for her patience and easygoing nature, Patel admits structure is necessary when a transaction is under contract. “I have a deal that took three years to close, and it will finally open in 2024,” she shares. “I work very hard on lease and sale deals, so seeing an occupancy permit approved or a new business open is a great accomplishment.” She credits Mo Dadkhah, owner of Main Street Real Estate Group, as a highly knowledgeable mentor who significantly helped grow her real estate knowledge and career.
After a difficult year of losing her beloved 15 -year-old dog, Cinco, Patel continues to enjoy attending music festivals and sporting events. Her goal is to complete the Six Star Abbott World Marathon Majors, which consists of finishing six of the world’s largest road races, and also focus on growing her personal investment portfolio.
