After establishing an award-winning business in Chicago and on Chicago’s North Shore, Jennifer Ames and Karen Arenson sought to grow and bring Engel & Völkers into Southwest Michigan. The two are passionate about the lifestyle that Southwest Michigan offers, having spent years enjoying second homes in the region. “There is so much to love, from the farmer’s markets to the restaurants to lakefront recreation to the apples, blueberries and peaches,” says Carly Jones, whom Ames and Arenson recruited to be the co-owner and managing broker of Engel & Völkers Shoreline.

When it comes to choosing agents with whom to partner, Jones is highly selective, onboarding only professional real estate advisors who share the team’s values of integrity, competency and passion. She prioritizes relationships over transactions, always putting the client’s needs first.

This women-owned company opened in Douglas, Michigan two years ago. Its boutique shop serves lakefront communities from the Indiana border to Grand Rapids, along with communities to the east. It offer clients best-in-class marketing, as well as powerful exposure to feeder markets like St. Louis, Indianapolis and Chicago.

Since Engel & Völkers Shoreline shares ownership with Engel & Völkers Chicago and Engel & Völkers Chicago North Shore, Shoreline clients have access to the same resources as a big-city brokerage. “We have a strong referral business between our Chicago and Michigan advisors, as well as within our larger network throughout the Americas and the world,” says Arenson.

Collectively, Ames, Arenson and Jones count more than $2.5 billion in residential sales.
