With more than 31 years of experience in the lending industry, Beata Bukowski has had an atypical career path. “I stumbled upon the lending business when my dad, buying his first home on American soil, barely speaking English, took me along to the loan application thinking I could help translate,” Bukowski recalls. “I didn’t know how to spell mortgage, let alone understand the terminology to translate for my dad. But at that loan application, my life changed.” The loan officer saw potential in her and recommended her for a job. She began working as a loan processor and, with the guidance of her mentor, Steve Schrager, became a loan officer at the age of 20.
Born and raised in Poland, Bukowski specializes in serving immigrant communities, including those from Poland and Ukraine. She’s also dedicated her work to serving veterans and their families. “I’m known for my speed to respond, my professionalism, knowledge and patience in explaining the complexity of the process,” she says. “I always go above and beyond, fully invested in the client’s success.”
Bukowski is proud to be able to relate to her clients on many levels. “I feel I have a great ability to see a loan scenario and be able to structure it to work for the clients,” she says. “Being an immigrant myself, I can relate to the obstacles and challenges of immigrants. Having been a wife to a veteran, I can relate to veterans and their struggles. Being a single mom who has touched success through hard work, I can coach and bring perspective to homeownership.”
Bukowski has garnered numerous professional accomplishments, including being named by Fairway to its President’s, Chairman’s and Diamond clubs; by Mortgage Executive Magazine among the top 1% of mortgage originators in America; and by the Scotsman’s Guide as a top originator. Her philosophy is simple: “A loan is not a loan — it’s a life I am touching and helping to change. I am just as ecstatic when I get a loan approved today as I was with my first loan 31 years ago.”
