When she graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, Salma Manaa thought medical school would be the next step toward her ultimate career goal of serving others. However, while working part time in the mortgage industry, Manaa realized not only how much she loved the industry but also that she didn’t have to be in the medical field to help others. “When my team and I assist families into achieving homeownership, it touches my heart deeply,” she shares. “I know that this is a huge step for many people, and to be part of it is a huge blessing.”

A majority of Manaa’s clients come to her not believing homeownership is possible for them or having been previously turned down for financing, which makes her achievement of closing 145 loans for $37 million last year even more impressive. She draws on the ups and downs she’s experienced in nearly 10 years in the industry to drive her problem-solving for her clients. “I’ve really seen the ins and outs of everything throughout the years, and it gives me the ability to be diverse in my thinking and strategies,” she explains.

Recognized as being among the top 1% of mortgage originators nationwide for the last three years, Manaa earned Chairman’s Club status at Fairway in 2022 and was also named a top originator by Scotsman Guide. She attributes her success to her support team and their commitment to their clients. “They are the No. 1 reason for my success in the industry. I couldn’t ask for a better team,” she says. “We are committed to being the best and to always have options for our clients. We want to ensure that everyone’s goals are met, so we strive in all areas to make sure that happens.”

When away from real estate, Manaa enjoys traveling, exploring new restaurants, staying active and watching sports, especially football. She recently achieved a lifelong dream of moving to the city with her fiancé and two beloved dogs.
