Adam Teising, Home Lending Advisor

JP Morgan Chase Bank N.A.

An education in business management and finance coupled with career experience in sales and financial services set Adam Teising on a path to the banking business, which soon led to mortgage lending. That was 16 years ago, and now the industry veteran is an expert in all types of loan products for every type of buyer.

The soft skills that the former college basketball player developed throughout his years as an athlete, such as collaboration, resilience, communication and leadership, come into play daily in his role as a home lending advisor. “The sports aspect of having to work as a team, dealing with challenges you endure whether physical or mental —this prepared me to deal with anything that comes my way,” Teising says, adding that the daily challenges of the lending business and the level of problem solving required are similar to those encountered in college athletics.

Teising says his resilience serves him especially well in his work. He focuses on solutions versus obstacles and takes a proactive approach to potential challenges a client may face. His many years of experience allow him to quickly identify those challenges and handle them with ease and patience. His clients describe him as attentive, accessible, honest, and friendly, and they say he simplifies the process and makes it enjoyable. “I prioritize really getting to know my clients,” Teising shares.

Referrals from agents, bankers and past clients make up the bulk of his business. He earned JP Morgan Chase Bank’s National Achieve Award for top-producing home lending advisors five years straight. “For me, it’s focusing constantly on trying to do a great job for every person I interact with. The rest will take care of itself,” he says.

When he’s not serving clients, Teising enjoys traveling with his family, attending his sons’ games, playing golf. A highlight of his basketball career at North Central College was captaining the 2005-2006 team to its first Division III NCAA tournament bid in over 16 years.
