Real estate became Sylvia Kos’ passion at a young age. She grew up watching her father build homes in Hinsdale and Burr Ridge. 

While her education is in interior design, Kos found her calling selling homes while designing them for her father’s construction business. “I got my real estate license and never looked back,” says Kos. “My background in design and construction is really an asset to my clients, and it often helps them make the final decision.”

Today, she is a Realtor with Berkshire Hathaway Chicago/Hinsdale who specializes in the Western Suburbs—the community that inspired her career choice.

Kos leverages her design background and construction roots to help her clients envision their house as a home. “It’s so much more than getting to the close,” insists Kos. “I help my clients picture their lives in the space and dream big right along with them. ” She helps them select everything from paint colors to countertops and even stain colors for hardwood floors. 

“I’ve developed a wide network of builder resources,” she says. “I love to help my clients get started on the right foot.”

Kos prides herself on creating relationships with clients that last a lifetime.

“My clients say they started with an agent and ended up with a close friend,” she shares. “I always put my client’s business first, and will go out of my way to respond to questions big and small throughout the process. Really, it stems from the fact that real estate is my family business. It’s my passion.”

In her free time, Kos enjoys traveling, dining out and soaking in new cultures and experiences with her husband, who is a real estate lawyer. An active member of Hinsdale Junior Woman’s Club, she recently mobilized the local community to donate medical supplies for Ukraine, coordinating the shipment with friends and family in Poland.
