Mike Nielsen, Senior Vice President of Mortgage Lending

Proper Rate

After finishing college and taking a job at Wells Fargo, Mike Nielsen found an opportunity to transition into mortgage lending. It proved to be quite a seamless career shift, as Nielsen studied banking and finance at Purdue University. Goal-oriented, honest and transparent, he postures himself with the understanding that his clients value speed, service and the best rate possible.

Working for the past 19 years with a sizeable client base consisting largely of first-time homebuyers and those seeking jumbo and refinance loans, Nielsen uses his communicative style to provide seasoned advice to his clients and his team to overcome hurdles. The dependability of his team underscores his ability to cultivate business relationships that provide a solid foundation for success and referrals. “Yes, I have a great team with some of the top processors in our company,” says Nielsen. “This helps me to focus on the client, knowing that they are in great hands throughout the entire process.”

After just three years in business, Nielsen closed more than $30 million in loans, earning his company’s prestigious President’s Club award — an award he’s earned every year since 2006. He is also a Chairman’s Circle recipient closing more than 100 million in loan volume for the past four consecutive years. While Nielsen has experienced much personal success, the past year was an incredible one for both him and his team. They helped more than 400 clients by closing $208 million in funded loans. Considering these numbers, it is no wonder that Nielsen has been named among the top 1% of mortgage loan originators by Mortgage Executive Magazine.

Committed to continued success, Nielsen and a colleague started a local chapter of Business Network International. He is also a member of the Southwestern Michigan Association of Realtors and @ Gives Back. His interests outside the industry include collecting classic cars and playing drums in a band. He is also proud to have recently completed his first triathlon.
