Beginning his real estate career in 1992 in Kyiv, Ukraine, Aleksandr Katsman was recognized as one of the first 14 real estate agents in his city. Before immigrating with his family to the United States, he earned a degree in music and had a flourishing musical career. Upon moving to Chicago, he studied computer programming and worked in that field for five years. Despite his success, he always wanted to return to real estate, his profession in Kyiv for three years.
Today, Katsman is a designated managing broker and partner at Barr Agency Real Estate Consultants, where he oversees all aspects of the company’s sales operations. His clients know that he’s there for them and will never guide them in the wrong direction, he says. “My goal from the initial meetings is honesty, trust and communication,” he declares. “I will never let someone make the wrong decision just so that they buy something. I want to make sure that they not only love their home, but that they will continue to grow there for many years to come.”
Katsman has been a top producer according to the Chicago Association of Realtors for four years in a row, and this year, he has grown from the top 5% to the top 1% at the North Shore-Barrington Association of Realtors. Furthermore, he is now recognized by the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors as a Platinum member for ranking in the top 1% of residential sales in the state of Illinois. 2020 was one of Katsman’s best years yet, as he started working with a social media manager; created 3D tours, virtual tours and videos; and really pulled out all the stops to help his clients find their dream homes. 2021 has brought even greater achievement that is a result of his extreme dedication and unparalleled work ethic.
A member of the National Association of Realtors, Illinois Association of Realtors and North Shore-Barrington Association of Realtors, Katsman is an Accredited Buyer’s Representative, Seller Representative Specialist, Real Estate Negotiation Expert and Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource. Outside of work, he loves music, soccer, hockey and swimming in the ocean any chance he gets. Family is very important to him, and he enjoys guiding his three children as he watches them grow.
