You know when your clients start calling you the queen of negotiations that you’re doing something right when it comes to representation. That, along with a robust collection of repeat business and referrals, is how Lala Mahoney knows she’s in the right line of work. “Helping people obtain their dreams is the best feeling, and that is why I love my job,” she says.
Serving everyone from luxury purchasers to first-time homebuyers in Chicago and on the North Shore, the Realtor with Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty has been in business for 20 years. Mahoney has earned her managing broker’s license and is certified as a Real Estate Negotiation Expert.
As much as she values continuing education for herself, Mahoney also sees it as her job to educate her clients about the market and keep them informed throughout the entire process. She helps them prepare for all outcomes, which avoids surprises and ensures success. As a result, buyers and sellers alike appreciate that she’s responsive, honest and tech-savvy.
While serving her clients comes first for Mahoney, her production numbers speak to a robust, active book of business. She increases the number of homes she sells every year and has been recognized as a top-producing agent.
Outside of work, Mahoney supports the efforts of Color of Change, the Evanston-based nonprofit Open Communities and her children’s parent-teacher organization. She’s served on the board of directors for the North Shore-Barrington Association of Realtors, on top of her work with several committees at the association, including the Young Professionals Network, Grievance Committee and Ethics Citation Panel.
High energy at home and at work, Mahoney enjoys being active and outdoors, including gardening, biking, tennis and hiking with her two border collies. As a mom, she’s very involved with her son’s Pop Warner Little Scholars football team and her daughter’s soccer team.
