Lauren Cody, Broker

Baird & Warner

Priding herself on strict adherence to honesty and industry ethics, Lauren Cody never compromises her integrity for the sake of a sale. A broker with Baird & Warner and a third-generation resident of Riverside, Cody has 15 years of real estate experience and a vast knowledge of the western suburban market. Specializing in single-family homes, multifamily buildings and condos, Cody serves clients in Riverside, North Riverside, Berwyn, La Grange Park and Brookfield, infusing her professional expertise with firsthand knowledge.

After graduating with a bachelor’s and master’s in education, Cody taught for a decade before translating her love of sewing and home decor into a career as the founder of a drapery company. “Teaching gave me the organizational skills that are so necessary in the real estate business, and my drapery company gave me the design skills that allow me to help my clients prepare their homes,” she says, adding that a friend who was an agent encouraged her to make the transition and become a broker.

In 2019, for the third year in a row, Cody ranked among the top 10% of agents at Baird & Warner in Chicagoland and received the company’s Founder’s Club award. While at the La Grange office, she was No. 1 in sales volume and in title sales, and she received the Chairman’s Club and Vice President’s Club awards in 2016 and 2015, respectively.

With 60% of her business coming from referrals and past clients, Cody works solo without the aid of administrative or marketing staff. “I handle every aspect of my business, and my numbers have been as high as those of some teams with more support and employees,” she says. “Other agents often ask me how I do it all.”

Cody is a member of the National Association of Realtors and belongs to the Riverside Chamber of Commerce and the Riverside Landscape Advisory Commission. She enjoys reading, sewing and spending time with her husband, three adult children and granddaughter.
