Jennifer Sobocienski, Senior Mortgage Consultant

Wintrust Mortgage

A seasoned lending professional, Jennifer Sobocienski points to her business and accounting background, years of experience, and emphasis on being organized, detail-oriented and knowledgeable as the reasons for her success. Sobocienski is a senior mortgage consultant at nationwide lender Wintrust Mortgage. She offers a broad range of products, including conventional, jumbo, construction and portfolio loans, as well as down payment assistance programs for first-time homebuyers. Since Sobocienski lends in all states, she often helps her clients with second-home purchases and relocation moves, too.

After working in the corporate world for several years (at Ernst & Young, Arthur Andersen and Citadel), Sobocienski took the leap into real estate and lending. She wanted to pursue her passion for helping people and find a niche where she could apply her business and interpersonal skills. Her accounting and CPA background is a daily asset, as working with numbers is an essential skill that allows her to find solutions for her clients’ mortgage needs.

Now with 15 years of experience, Sobocienski understands the ins and outs of the mortgage world. “You need experience to know what will and will not work for a loan,” she says. “When I issue a preapproval, I know my client’s loan is solid and will go smoothly through the approval process. My experience allows me to see potential things that might be an issue so we can fix and address them ahead of time.”

Sobocienski finds joy in helping people buy their first home, make moving decisions and save money when refinancing. She finds support in her leaders and teammates at Wintrust Mortgage and prioritizes being organized above all else. “My attention to detail helps ensure a smooth process from start to finish,” she says. “I don’t keep coming back for more documents or information. I know what is needed to get my client’s file clear to close, and so I get everything upfront to help make the process easy.”
