Cara Buffa Weitzman, Real Estate Broker

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago

Real estate is second nature to Cara Buffa Weitzman. Her career began when she was fresh out of college and has spanned almost three decades. Today, Buffa is a broker with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago. Although her business originally centered on the city, she has branched out into the suburbs as her clientele has grown. Once focused on development projects, Buffa now concentrates on helping families and individuals fulfill their real estate goals. She is proud to play an increasingly vital role in the growth of single-female homeownership. “It is such a pleasure to help women empower themselves though real estate,” she says.

Buffa notes that the industry has changed with the emergence of discount brokerages and automated marketing systems. “Consumers deserve the expertise, experience and wisdom only a seasoned broker can provide,” she says. “I’m happy to bring all of that to the table, along with a personal touch.”

Buffa often senses what listings need in order to shine. She’s thrilled to lend from her own collection of furniture and accessories to “give it just the right touch,” most notably her lucky collection of cake plates. Clients love working with Buffa for the energy and positive attitude she evokes throughout the process, and they know they can rely on her to bring a passion for results.

Recognized as a top producer by the Chicago Association of Realtors every year since she started, Buffa has been consistently ranked at either the platinum or gold level by the BHHS brand. She also was chosen as one of Crain’s Custom Media’s most influential brokers in 2018 and is an inaugural member of the BHHS Chicago Hall of Fame.

In her free time, Buffa can be found with her dogs, Leroy and Linus; children, Nate and Samantha; and husband, Josh, enjoying her award-winning garden in Old Irving Park. “It was designed for everyone to enjoy,” she says. “It’s a little slice of heaven in the city.”
