After moving to the United States, Rafay Qamar’s family endured its fair share of challenges. Today, he finds fulfillment in helping clients reach the American Dream of owning their own homes, with help from his colleagues in the Rafay Qamar Group.
Qamar, the principal broker of the group, is always ready to serve. Along with Jana Pierce, Evan Reynolds, Eric Wicencyjusz, Jessica Stetz and a team of junior brokers, the group makes it their mission to serve clients around the clock. “Our schedule is eyes open to eyes shut,” Reynolds says. They work with all types of clients, from luxury buyers looking to purchase a $5 million-dollar lakefront estate to those seeking to sell a $30,000 parking space in the city. The group’s collective ability to speak 11 languages helps them connect with a variety of clients from all over the world.
The team has structured itself for success, and group members have each other’s best interests at heart. “We have an incredible culture that revolves around collaboration, longevity and paying it forward. Senior brokers coach junior brokers and provide one-on-one mentorship. We take them on appointments and make sure they’re ready to represent the group on their own,” Pierce says. The operations division backs the team like an assembly line, the inside sales division keeps the pipeline full and the marketing department provides the group with branding to help reach their sales goal of $100 million for 2019. “If we had to choose a spirit animal for our group, it would be a wolf pack. We hunt in pairs.”
Qamar enjoys investing and building his own real estate portfolios. This year, he put 52 units under contract and plans to hit the 1,000-unit mark in the next five years. “I’m a huge advocate of helping my clients and team members learn financial literacy and create streams of cash flow by investing in their own assets,” he says.
Qamar has served as the owner of two RE/MAX brokerages in the past, and earned designations including Accredited Buyer’s Representative, Real Estate Negotiation Expert, Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist and Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource. He is a member of the Institute for Luxury Home Marketing’s Million Dollar Guild, as well as a board member of the North Shore-Barrington Association of Realtors’ Young Professionals Network.
