A career in real estate was always in the cards for Elizabeth August. A broker and founding agent of @properties, she grew up in the Oak Park/River Forest area and, from a young age, always appreciated the details of the older homes there. “I remember going to friends’ homes and loving the expansive staircases, beautiful vintage chandeliers and huge formal living rooms with gorgeous trim and floors,” she says. “For a short time, my dad sold homes, and I just remember him talking about these gorgeous mansions.” While she was working in advertising as a media planner for Leo Burnett, a friend reached out to her and asked if she would like to go into real estate with a company that was just starting out. That was 19 years ago, and the company was @properties.

August assists both buyers and sellers with properties from condos to luxury single-family homes throughout Chicagoland. “I love my clients,” she says. “The best part of what I do is helping people, from start to finish, with one of the biggest decisions of their lives, in a way that is insightful, straightforward and drama-free.”

August also works with developers and rehabbers on new-construction projects. This experience has taught her to pay attention to details — something she makes sure to pass on to clients during the buying and selling process.

“I am honored to be part of this industry,” August says. “I have so much appreciation for agents who consistently produce in this market.” Recognized as a Chicago Association of Realtors Top Producer for 14 consecutive years, she has earned too many awards to mention.

Available to clients 24/7, August has built her business on being there for buyers and sellers through every stage of the process. A self-proclaimed foodie who grew up with parents in the restaurant business, she loves to volunteer at her kids’ schools, and enjoys running and biking with her family.
