David Porter strives to make every real estate transaction as simple and as stress-free as possible for his clients, working at their pace and eliminating any unnecessary pressures along the way. “We understand that life happens and closings may take longer than anticipated,” says Porter, the managing partner of Porter Group with @properties and former NFL offensive lineman.
Working with buyers, sellers and investors of all budgets and experiences, Porter specializes in the Loop, South Loop, West Loop, Lincoln Park, Lakeview, Wicker Park, Bucktown and Evanston markets. “The only requirement is that the client is committed to working with the Porter Group for their real estate needs,” he says of his group’s philosophy.
After Porter’s career in the NFL with the Green Bay Packers, the Buffalo Bills and the Indianapolis Colts, he spent seven years climbing the corporate ladder — from an outside salesperson to the vice president of sales and marketing for a MRO wholesale distribution and construction supply manufacturing company. Five years ago, Porter transitioned into real estate, opting for a career with increased flexibility and autonomy. “As a real estate broker, I work hard and utilize all the skills I learned in corporate business,” he explains, adding that the self-regulated schedule allows him to spend more time with his daughters.
Thanks to @properties’ unique technology platforms and available resources, Porter and his team can accommodate their clients’ individualized preferences and needs while streamlining the process and providing high-quality customer service. “Our attention to detail and organization skills helps us hone in on the right property for our buyer clients and identify the right buyer demographic for our sellers,” he says.
Since 2016, Porter has ranked among Chicago Association of Realtors’ Top Producers. He is vice president of Chicago’s NFL Alumni Chapter and President of his condo’s association in Lakeshore East, where he has called home for 15-plus years. Porter is a member of Chicago’s Former NFL Players Association chapter, which serves as a support system to former players and was chapter of the year in 2012.
