Agent Snapshot: Joanne Nemerovski, Broker Associate, Prudential Rubloff Lincoln Park

What was your first job in the realty industry? I worked as a property manager during the day while attending law school at night.

Where did you grow up? In the northern suburbs.

What is your favorite free-time activity?  Traveling, hiking, biking and yoga.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? Exercise and relax with family and friends.

If you weren’t a Realtor, what would you be?  A psychotherapist, nutritionist or a divorce mediator.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Eleanor Roosevelt. I feel she was an incredible woman who was ahead of her time.

Where is your favorite place to hang out?  Home.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?  Negotiating through emotional issues.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients?  Everywhere I go, people seem to be interested in real estate.

What has been your greatest accomplishment?  Personally, my children; professionally, having been ranked a top producer in the city consistently for the past 17 years.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? “Three Cups of Tea” by Greg Mortenson.

What is your favorite restaurant? A tie between Le Colonial and Cafe 28.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Chicago? All of the Benjamin Marshall buildings on East Lake Shore Drive.

What kind of car do you drive? Audi convertible.

Smartphone or Paper? iPhone all the way. I love it!

What is your favorite city after Chicago?  None are even close. Chicago is the best by far!

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Work hard, but not so hard that you lose your balance, and above all, never compromise your integrity.
