Describe your look:
Suit style and color-forward.
What item of clothing gets you the most compliments?
My vintage trenchcoat. I love that Christian Dior fit. So classic.
Where are your favorite clothing stores or brands?
Anywhere that has a sale on quality pieces in a good fabric. It’s not the label; it’s the material and pattern.
Who is your style icon?
Celebs just don’t do it for me. It’s the well-dressed men on the street who catch my eye. The old men in suits throughout Italy and Spain just drip with “best dressed.”
What’s the most meaningful accessory you’ve ever acquired? Do you still have it?
My most meaningful accessory is a gold pendant of a manatee, my father’s. It was my inheritance. I wear it every day and never take it off.
What item in your closet do you wear the most?
A full rotation of all 48 of my jackets and suits. I love them all equally. It would be easier to say what I like least: the sweatpants hidden away, I suppose.
What decade or time period had the best fashion, in your opinion?
The Gatsby era of luxury. The 1920s and ’30s.
What do you consider a “fashion don’t”?
Dressing down when you go out. I agree with the French mindset.
What fashion accessory do you feel naked without?
Gold or silver bracelet, a matching leather band and some semi-precious stones.
What style has come back into fashion that you think shouldn’t have?
Eighties workout clothing as ready wear.
What is a fashion crime you have committed in the past?
That fake LV messenger I carried in high school.
