Tanner Peterson is a broker at The DoWell Group, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago, Lincoln Park.
Number of years in real estate:
Just on my 5th year!
Describe your look:
I would describe my look as classic and clean.
What do you consider a “fashion don’t”?
Wearing something that doesn’t make you feel confident.
What style has come back into fashion that you think shouldn’t have?
Baggy pants; can’t do it.
What item of clothing gets you the most compliments?
My cowboy boots.
What is a fashion crime you have committed in the past?
There are several, but the worst is probably plaid anything.
Where are your favorite clothing stores or brands?
Ralph Lauren is always my No. 1. I love Banana Republic, Suit Supply and State & Liberty, as well.
What’s the most meaningful accessory or piece of clothing you’ve ever acquired? Do you still have it?
When I sold my first home, my dad gifted me an Omega Seamaster he actually bought himself when he closed his first case back in the day. I wear it every day.
What fashion accessory do you feel naked without?
My watch.
Who is your style icon?
For sure, Ralph Lauren.
What decade or time period had the best fashion, in your opinion?
I was born in 2000, so I feel like fashion has always been a little “less” than what you’d see in the 1960s-1990s.
What item in your closet do you wear the most?
I love a pair of dark blue jeans. To me, jeans are timeless and can be dressed up or down depending what you wear with it.
Does your style reflect your personal brand? If so, how?
My style is a direct extension of my brand — refined, intentional and effortlessly elevated. Every detail reflects the same level of sophistication and polish that I take approaching any of my clients. I can go to a $300,000 condo or a $3 million home, and what I am wearing makes sense.
