Always charged and ready to work, Sheena Baker of CarMarc Realty Group is both meticulous and enthusiastic. Attending to sellers, buyers, investors and renters in the residential and commercial sectors around Chicagoland, Baker stays two steps ahead of her clients, anticipating their needs long before problems can arise.
Buying her first home at the age of 19, Baker owned three properties and flipped a house before turning 26. “Many family members and friends would reach out to me to help them with the process or to ask questions, so it just made sense to obtain my license,” Baker explains. “I wanted everyone to experience the benefits of homeownership.”
While Baker earned her license in 2006, she first worked in human resources and payroll services for over a decade before transitioning to real estate full time in 2013. “My corporate client services background has enabled me to create a wonderful client experience,” she says, noting that clients appreciate her professionalism, knowledge and patience. “My business is 100 percent referrals, and every year I host client appreciation events as a way to give back.”
Within the past year, Baker hired a transaction coordinator, a decision that has already reaped benefits by allowing her to focus her attention on expanding her client base and increasing sales, ultimately earning her the title of Platinum Top Producer with CarMarc. She was also named Realtor of the Year by the Women’s Council of Realtors’ West Suburban network. This year, Baker was selected to serve Illinois Realtors as a state legislative contact for 49th District Rep. Karina Villa.
Baker is a member of the Quad County African American Chamber of Commerce and the former president of the Women’s Council of Realtors’ West Suburban network. Prior to her presidency, Baker was the vice president of membership.
