Niko G. Marneris, Attorney

NGM Law

As a former real estate broker, Niko G. Marneris, principal of NGM Law, brings firsthand experience and over a decade of industry knowledge to the table. “My background in navigating the nuts and bolts of the buying and selling process, along with experiencing the ups and downs of the client relationship during different stages of a transaction, helps me be a better closing attorney,” he says, adding that clients and industry professionals appreciate his ability to understand and consider both perspectives.

Established in 2010, NGM Law, which has grown to a team of two attorneys and two paralegals, handles all aspects of real estate law. Marneris represents residential buyers and sellers in and around Chicago as well as investors. “The Realtors, lenders, investors and title professionals we have surrounded ourselves with at the office led to an all-time high number of closings for the year and, more importantly, a higher level of quality transactions.”

Graduating law school in 2006 having already worked as a law clerk for a real estate law firm as well as the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Marneris earned his broker license in 2007 but ultimately transitioned back into law full time three years later. “I have always had a deep fascination with real estate,” says Marneris. “It occurred to me early on that there was so much happening on so many levels, from constantly changing neighborhood landscapes to the accumulation of wealth and power to the social aspect of how many different and interesting people intersect in this business. I could never get bored being around all that.”

Marneris is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association and Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association. A self-described “big fan” of riding his bike, traveling and exploring Chicago, Marneris also loves spending time with his large Greek family.
