Jessica Beslagic Real Estate Agent

Dream Town Real Estate

What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?
I was a client service associate for JPMorgan Chase Private Bank. This role helped me develop a great approach to client service overall.

Where did you grow up?
The Chicago northwest suburbs (Norridge).

Growing up, what did you want to be?
I wanted to be a business owner like my dad – ideally a hair salon or spa.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
I love to take a hiking trip or visit Chicago’s top spas.

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
Sylvester Stallone – I bet he has some good stories. He reminds me of my father who passed away in 2021 and I’d love a little reminder of him. Think this will get Sly’s attention?

What is Chicago’s best-kept secret?
Allyu Spa in River North.

What do you love most about the industry?
Everyday is a new day! While it can get emotionally exhausting, the highs and lows are what make this industry so exciting. There is never a dull day.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?
I genuinely want the very best for my clients – I work with them on their timeline and match their energy, so it’s a mutually positive transaction. I love to build trust in all of my relationships, rather than being just a salesperson. This is one of the biggest transactions of their life, so it should be treated as such!

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
For numerous reasons, the industry has changed and it’s been very difficult for buyers. Thus, at times it can get exhausting trying to control emotions during the offer process. It is truly a 24/7 job.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads?
Tell anyone and everyone what you do! I have received business from handing out business cards to people at the gas station and even at the airport. Make sure to exchange contact information so you can nurture the relationship until they are ready to buy or sell! Most importantly, ask for referrals.

What has been your greatest accomplishment?
I’m proud of was allowing myself to chase my dream of entering the real estate industry. I was always interested in real estate, but the thought of commission only paralyzed me. I was on maternity leave, four weeks after giving birth to my second child, when I got my real estate license within a two-week timeframe. Juggling a toddler, a newborn and two dogs, was a full-time job all while studying for the exam, but I did it. I followed my dream, and here I am! Getting nominated for Rookie of the Year in the 2022 Chicago Agents’ Choice Awards was a nod to all the hard work I put in my first year to get here.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?
To free my mind, I love watching trash TV like TLC’s “90 Day Fiancé.” It’s so easy to work 24/7 and not give your brain a well-deserved break.

What’s your favorite meal in Chicago?
I love a good cocktail and crab cakes from Bavette’s!

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Chicago?
Tribune Tower hands down. I love the Gothic style of this building.

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?
Tenants showing the unit half dressed, with no clue their home is about to be shown to a potential buyer.

What’s one thing people are surprised to learn about you?
My father and his siblings have all run their own tire shops throughout Chicago since the early 1990s.

What is your favorite vacation spot and why?
Disney World! I’m a Disney adult, because it’s a happy bubble and I can leave all my problems at the gate.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?
To make money you have to spend money – HUSTLE!

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app?
Zenlist — a fantastic tool to keep track of your buyers.

Who are your favorite people to follow on social media?
All the big-time Chicago agents. I love to see what they’re up to and what I can do to get there one day.
