Cover story: 2018 real estate predictions

by Blake Boldt

The market

In 2018, is your company going to beat its 2017 numbers?

Alter Warden: In 2017, Baird & Warner outpaced the market in overall brokerage results, which will serve as the foundation for another record year in key metrics — specifically by continuing to build listings and expanding strategically with smaller brokerage acquisitions. By making the entire real estate process “easier,” we will continue to attract team members who pride themselves on delivering the type of outstanding customer service that has made us a Top Workplace culture according to the Chicago Tribune for six straight years.

Golden: Given our level of growth, we are optimistic that 2018 will be a stronger year than 2017, though we do not anticipate any huge increases. In our business in general, and with the new technology available to consumers, we continue to help our agents be better positioned and have support so that they can go out in the marketplace and justify their existence and show their value while also staying ahead of the competition.

Sato: Yes, we anticipate 2018 to outpace even our strong 2017 performance. We project our sales volume to increase 20 percent in 2018, for a total sales volume of over $2 billion.
