In Chicago’s competitive real estate market, it’s hard to get closer to the stars than selling some of the city’s most exclusive penthouses. Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage agent Chezi Rafaeli has made his mark on the city by handling many of these high-altitude homes. For instance, he successfully completed sales for penthouses in The Pinnacle and 55 Erie, at $10,990,500 and $4.25 million, respectively.
But the deal that put him over the top last year and helped catapult him into the top 10 agents in sales volume in Cook County was for a penthouse in Chicago’s second-tallest building, the ultra-sleek and modern Trump Tower. Located on the 89th floor of the 1,389-foot building, the condo covers 14,260 square feet and has 16-foot ceilings, five bedrooms, eight baths and floor to ceiling windows that offer a panoramic view of the city below. Entrepreneur Sanjay Shah, founder and CEO of the Hoffman Estates-based technology firm Vistex, closed on the $17 million sale in December. Shah intends to spend approximately $15 million to finish the space, according to Vistex.
