Curbed reported that Skyscraper Page forum has posted a rendering of the latest proposal for a new university housing project for the Loop.

The new rental building is aimed at students, faculty and staff in the downtown area, and was designed by Lothan Van Hook DeStefano Architecture LLC.

The design of the luxury  rental is a series of stacked black cubes, each one precariously cantilevered over the one below, which is very different from Chicago’s recent new skyscrapers. It will be located at Van Buren and Wabash, right across from Roosevelt University’s new 32-story vertical campus, which is scheduled to open in March 2012.
