What was your first job in the realty industry?
I was an assistant to a commercial agent in Denver in the mid-80’s and didn’t return to real estate until I joined Sussex & Reilly in 2001 as an agent.

Who inspires you?
My kids inspire me to create a better world for them.

What is your favorite free-time activity?
I just got back from a summer trip to Rhode Island with my family and we did some great fishing.

How did you learn the business?
When I started here in Chicago there was no formal training program and I had to learn by trial and error.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
To be honest, I really like just about everything about this business.

What was your worst job, and what did you learn from it?
I was in the restaurant business before real estate. On my first day at a huge national chain, I had to throw away pounds and pounds of food because it wasn’t cut to their precise specifications. It was then that I realized my free-style, free-thinking personality was more suited for independent employment.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients?
I’m a member of my neighborhood block club and a board member of the Edgewater Community Council. I love these chances to meet my neighbors.

What has been your greatest accomplishment?
I am proud to be at a point in my business that I can provide for my family and take time off to spend time with them.

What is your favorite restaurant?
MK has an amazing American contemporary menu, the pastry chef deserves a Nobel Prize and the atmosphere is second to none.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Chicago?
I love the classic vintage architecture of Chicago, so there are many, but the Wrigley Building stands out in my mind.

What kind of car do you drive?
Saab 97x

What is your favorite city after Chicago?
Boston

What is your personal motto?
My goal is to remain positive all of the time.

Build your database. My most valuable clients are referrals.
