Rafay Qamar, NSBAR’s president, is the founder and team leader of the Qamar Group at REAL Broker — one of the fastest-growing real estate teams in the Midwest. A top-producing broker with more than $850 million in career sales volume and over 2,000 closed transactions, he has ranked among the top 1% of agents in Illinois and was recognized in Chicago Agent’s Who’s Who in Chicagoland Residential Real Estate edition. The first president of Asian or South Asian descent in NSBAR’s history, he has served in leadership roles at the local and state levels. Known for his leadership, mentorship and growth strategies, he aims to build the Midwest’s first billion-dollar real estate team while creating lasting impact.
Shannon Johnson works with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago and serves as president-elect of NSBAR, where she is an advocate for professional standards, ethical practices and industry leadership. She leads a partnership with Realtor Jasmine Shapiro, serving buyers and sellers across Chicago’s North Shore and suburbs with a full-service approach. Drawing on her background in interior design, she brings a refined perspective to home preparation, marketing and value positioning. Moreover, her negotiation skills and strategic guidance support clients ranging from first-time buyers to luxury sellers. She is the co-host of “Help! Nobody Told Me…,” a podcast focused on real estate and informed decision-making.
Jeff Lasky is NSBAR’s chief executive officer and the 2026 chair of the National Association of REALTORS®’ RCE Advisory Board. With decades of experience in real estate and association management, he is recognized for his forward-thinking leadership and commitment to a culture rooted in innovation, transparency and collaboration. At NSBAR, he leads with a strategic vision focused on operational excellence, member engagement and organizational growth. As a passionate advocate for real estate professionals, he is dedicated to empowering staff and members while cultivating strong partnerships throughout the industry.
