Kotoch has spent more than a decade in Chicago real estate, leading the Joe Kotoch Group at Compass. Athletes, entertainers, executives and investors come to him for guidance on transactions that frequently cross state lines. “I’ve always believed in protecting my clients’ interests above all else,” he shares. “Sometimes that means walking away from a deal if it doesn’t serve their best interests.”
Bringing an international perspective to the group, Sabrina Zampa relies on an operational approach defined by professional integrity and a focus on client objectives. Her role involves identifying underlying market opportunities that standard evaluations miss, allowing her to guide buyers and investors through complex contractual hurdles to establish long-term professional relationships. Referrals and longtime relationships drive most of the team’s business.
Kotoch’s numbers speak for themselves. His group is licensed in Illinois, California, Florida, Texas and Ohio. The group is an inductee into the Compass Legends Society and has surpassed $400 million in career sales. In 2020, he founded Forest City Capital, an investment firm that has acquired, rehabilitated or developed more than 15 Chicago projects — several of them design-forward builds that improve the surrounding block.
Kotoch is a husband and father of two children, Addie and Luke. He spends his weekends following sports, wandering Chicago’s neighborhoods or walking the family’s two Portuguese Water Dogs.
