On Tuesdays and Thursdays, Diana Ivas would drive to Hinsdale to attend Realtor open houses whenever her schedule allowed. At the time, she was still working full time as a teacher and coach at Oak Park and River Forest High School. She had been teaching for 17 years and loved it, but she had also begun exploring a second path in real estate.
In the beginning, she planned to do both. For one full year, she taught classes during the day, coached after school and shifted into real estate whenever she could. “I went to the office after school and on Saturdays and Sundays,” she explains. “I did everything to immerse myself to gain more knowledge.” Over time, her real estate interest grew stronger. Then came a moment of opportunity: The school district, facing declining enrollment, offered her a year’s salary and three years of medical insurance to step away. She accepted. “I never looked back,” she says today.
Early in her real estate career, Diana lived near downtown Hinsdale and learned the area through daily runs. She built a strong local foundation that helped shape her now-36-year career in the field. Today, she works with her husband and longtime business partner, Chuck, serving buyers and sellers across Hinsdale and the surrounding western suburbs. Chuck’s former experience as a decorating contractor proves beneficial in assisting buyers and sellers to make decisions for home improvements.
The team specializes in residential and rental properties, along with select commercial transactions. One of Diana’s proudest accomplishments involved helping a client relocating from China secure a luxury rental, a transaction that later led to two more major deals, including a high-end home and a commercial property.
Diana and Chuck maintain an active lifestyle and enjoy recharging through joyful activities when away from the office.
