After 11 years in the Chicago real estate business, Andrew Scheibe can smile when he reflects on how far he has come. Many of the first-time buyers he worked with in the beginning have returned as sellers and move-up buyers; he has added multi-unit investors to his client list; and still other long-term investor clients now seek his help as they try their hands at flipping. With each new experience, he has added another tool to his toolbox.
“When I started in the business, I was likely less prepared,” Scheibe recalls of his initial meetings with new clients. “Now I present new buyers with more market information upfront to best prepare them for what is to come. I try to make sure they are ready to win multiple offer situations and educate them on what the market will be like when they start searching. For sellers, I give more advice on design or repairs that will help sell their homes.”
Though the industry was in a down cycle, in 2024 Scheibe was able to close the highest volume of sales in his career and was one of just two agents in his office to close more than the previous year. Clients say, and he agrees, that his secret sauce is his no-pressure demeanor, trustworthiness and willingness to get his hands dirty during showings, climbing into attics to check things out and helping them imagine potential projects to add value. His goal is to remain a lifelong asset and trusted advisor to his clients.
Proud new parents to a daughter, Scheibe and his wife still find find time to remain active with the Chicago French Bulldog Rescue and foster pets when they can. Scheibe is also musician and songwriter whose first album will be released this summer.
