The father-daughter team of Mario and Katharine Cordova strives to give each buyer, seller and investor it works with a five-star experience that leads to a long-term relationship. “We don’t work with everyone, since not everyone is a good fit,” explains Mario, a Realtor and team leader at eXp Realty. “Being selective with the clients I choose to work with is critical for a smooth process and a formula for success.”
Leading a team of seven agents with his daughter Katharine allows him to assist even more clients on the North Shore. Mario teaches teammates to “listen to understand, not respond,” a lesson passed down by his mentors. He also has in place systems and processes that give him the ability to plug in new agents and keep moving forward, knowing the new associates will be able to help clients achieve their goals.
Known as the “real estate concierge team,” Mario and Katharine provide clients with a trusted list of handymen, painters, plumbers, roofers and other contractors to help make their real estate transition a breeze. Adding Katharine to his team has “quantum-leaped the business,” Mario says. She is tech savvy; keeps the team on top of cutting-edge technology; and brings solution-oriented optimism, attention to detail and caring to every client relationship.
Inspired by her father’s ability to help families buy and sell homes — and in the process, build generational wealth — Katharine left college after a year to join him in the business. Despite earning a 4.0 GPA, she was anxious to apply everything she learned in her business classes to her own business. But before earning a real estate license, she worked in an administrative position for three years, learning how to problem-solve tricky obstacles for clients. She says leading and training a team with her dad is rewarding, because it gives her an opportunity to watch good agents become great ones.
