Maria Kharot, President, CEO
Shauna Weatherspoon, Vice President
Led by the powerhouse team of Maria Kharot and Shauna Weatherspoon, Everest Title Company, proudly holds the distinction of being the first 100% minority-owned and woman-operated title company in the state of Illinois. The company’s success is fueled by its leadership team’s unique background and expertise.
As president and CEO, Kharot takes immense pride in being the sole Muslim and Afghan-American woman to own a title company, both nationally and globally. Her primary role involves creating efficient systems for the company’s operations. Weatherspoon, as vice president, excels in marketing and branding, skillfully promoting the company’s services.
Both are licensed Realtors in Illinois and boast an impressive three decades of experience in the real estate industry. Their combined knowledge allows them to assist residential and commercial clients. Kharot and Weatherspoon firmly believe in fostering an educational and supportive environment for their team, while having fun in their work.
The team’s success largely stems from referrals and actively engaging with new Realtors and attorney partners. As certified Buffini instructors, they emphasize the benefits of collaboration by offering executive coaching, courses and free educational sessions.
Additionally, Kharot’s and Weatherspoon’s extensive experience in various roles, including as Realtors, HOA property manager, senior paralegal, brokerage owner, designated managing broker, home inspector, and loan originator, allows them to bring a wealth of insights and valuable expertise to the industry.
A recent milestone for the company was its highly successful Power Women’s event held during Women’s History Month in March. The event garnered tremendous support and featured prominent figures from the industry, leaving attendees eagerly anticipating future celebrations.
Everest Title Company upholds the value of giving back to the community, as seen through its support of the Raising Our Daughters Foundation, where Weatherspoon serves as executive director and Kharot as a dedicated board member.
Everest Title Company stands out for its business achievements and commitment to empowering women and minority representation in the real estate sector. Thanks to its skilled leadership, the company thrives while making a positive impact by empowering its clients to — as its name suggests—climb that mountain.
