Hollie Himmelman, Broker

@properties Christie’s International Real Estate

The real estate profession is populated with agents who come from different walks of life — but few have the experience Hollie Himmelman brings to her business: that of standup comedian. “Innate wit and a sense of humor help,” says Himmelman, a 12-year veteran in real estate selling West Loop, Fulton Market, River North, Gold Coast, Lincoln Park, Old Irving Park, Old Town and Lakeview properties. “My client relationships are ongoing. I call. I write. I text. I send a telegram.”

A Chicago native, Himmelman grew up immersed in the construction industry. As a 10-year-old, she worked for her father, an electrical contractor, answering phones. “One time, over the speaker system, I told my dad he had a phone call,” she recalls. “‘Daddy, pick up the phone!’ I yelled. He ran into my office and said, ‘Call me Sid!’”

It’s not surprising that Himmelman’s greatest asset is her ability to communicate with clients. “Exceptional communication is the key in both comedy and real estate,” she shares. “It’s with this skill that I’m able to understand, resonate and engage with people so effectively. It allows me to create a customized experience and provide stellar service for my clientele.”

Known for her savvy, thorough and passionate approach to real estate, Himmelman recently passed the real estate exam in California, where she hopes to help buyers and sellers on the West Coast. She holds 14 industry certifications and designations, including Master Certified Negotiation Expert, Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist™ and Accredited Staging Partner® Real Estate Agent.

“The fuel that runs my business is client-centricity,” says Himmelman, whose formula for success is, “Knowledge plus expertise plus generosity plus humor equals an amazing, unique and bespoke experience with stellar service.” She adds, “I’m a believer in giving so much more than is expected.”

In her spare time, Himmelman enjoys hiking — and even hiked across a glacier tethered to other hikers to keep them all safe — along with abstract painting, studying French, writing comedy and searching for art deco and midcentury artifacts. “I’m a very curious person,” she admits. “I like adventures!”
