Growing up on the North Shore, David Fields took advantage of the quick train ride into the city, where he loved learning about the rich history of all the neighborhoods. Starting his career in finance, he has been in real estate for six years and is currently a broker at COMPASS. “I gained a strong background in the industry by working my way up from leasing to portfolio management and then transitioning into sales,” he explains. “My reputation is characterized by my transparency, unwavering honesty, diligence and an ability to navigate intricate transactions.”
Assisting a wide range of clients from first-time homebuyers to luxury buyers and sellers and developers, Fields focuses on the areas of West Town, Logan Square, Bucktown, Lincoln Park, West Loop, Lakeview and North Shore. “I love the pace of the industry and the ‘eat what you kill’ nature of the business,” he admits. “The ability to connect with clients and guide them through one of the most important decisions of their life is really what drives me.”
Known for his easy-going nature and fun business style, Fields keeps the experience stress-free for his clients, while behind the scenes he is hustling and working hard to overcome possible issues. He credits much of his success to his COMPASS teammates. “Being a part of a team led to an accelerated learning curve and many business wins for me,” he insists. “We also lean heavily on social media marketing, which really helped grow my business.”
A supporter of Best Buddies International, Fields also volunteers with the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation. He is an avid golfer and enjoys exercising, especially boxing, and visiting new restaurants in his free time. Asked about his proudest accomplishment this past year, Fields responds: “bringing my beautiful baby daughter Brooklyn into the world!”
