Michael McCoy, Broker

@properties Christie’s International Real Estate

Serving the greater Chicago area for more than eight years as a broker for @properties Christie’s International Real Estate, Michael McCoy’s passion for real estate is only growing. He has always loved working with people, and originally was in sales for nearly 16 years. “Working in sales was the gateway for me to learn how to communicate with all different types of people” he says. He found his place in the real estate industry when he was introduced to the idea by his good friend. “I was always intrigued with real estate,” he says, adding that he is also an investor and owner of several multi-unit buildings. “So, I decided to get my license and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.”

Since McCoy began his real estate journey, he has found success working with first-time homebuyers and sellers, as well as through Instagram marketing. (His handle is MichaelMcCoyRealEstate.) “Whether it be luxury or a traditional transaction, my bottom line is I will work with anyone that wants to work with me,” he says. This humble business style works wonders, but it’s his determination and drive that he says is responsible for his success. “Nothing worth having comes easy,” he says. “It takes work.”

Respect and honesty are important to McCoy when it comes to doing business, and he takes his clients’ concerns and goals seriously. “I keep it simple with my clients,” he says. “Buying or selling a home is a big deal, and the last thing anyone needs is more stress or headaches.”

When he isn’t helping first-time homebuyers find their dream homes or helping a growing family sell their first home, McCoy enjoys a life of discipline and exercise. “My day cannot start without a morning jog and a good workout,” he says. “It’s my cup of coffee.” He also enjoys spending quality time with his two children, Lennox and Marley, as well as traveling to Europe and the Caribbean.
