A legal assistant for 13 years prior to becoming a broker, Lauren Roman made the pivot to real estate upon giving birth to her first daughter, who was born with special needs. Roman knew she would need a new career that would offer more flexibility. Having worked in a real estate office as a receptionist in high school, the industry had long piqued her interest. She decided to make the leap with a one-year-old at home and now runs a mostly referral-based business that is seeing significant growth.

Roman has brought a bounty of knowledge to her clients for the past five years, drawing from her experience of growing up in Homewood and living in the Chicago area her whole life. Serving first-time homebuyers and sellers, move-up buyers and repeat residential clients, she stays on top of the local real estate climate via first-hand research. “One of my favorite things to do is to explore new towns and areas, which has really helped me to learn the markets and communities for almost all of the south and southwestern suburbs and northwest Indiana,” says Roman.

She has frequently been praised for her prompt, clear communication and knowledge of area trends and happenings. Roman’s clients often become her friends and are afforded the quality preparation of an astute businesswoman as well as the unique insight of a local native with a keen eye for Chicago’s cultural landscape.

Despite tumultuous economic circumstances, Roman was recognized for her impressive sales volume last year. She received the Road to Rolex commendation from @properties Christie’s International Real Estate and was also named among the top 2 percent of real estate agents by the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors.

Active in her community, Roman serves as a trustee for the community in which she resides, the Village of Homewood. Roman enjoys spending her free time with her husband, their three children, extended family and friends.
