A true native of the Chicago suburbs, Elizabeth Burke, a broker for @properties Christie’s International Real Estate, grew up with family in the real estate market, which gives her an edge in the industry. “I work with my mom, who has been in real estate for over 35 years,” she says. ”I grew up going to appointments with her, so I’ve always been in touch with the industry.”
Having always had an interest in and connection with the real estate industry, Burke eventually took the dive after a career in education. “I was always familiar with real estate,” she remembers. “I love how it’s a total lifestyle rather than just a career.” With 10 years of experience behind her, she still goes back to her teaching roots. “Teaching helped me with organization, as well as communication, both for me and my clients,” she says.
With an extensive history and lifetime of exposure, Burke is able to keep her clients stress-free and calm throughout the entire transaction process. “My business style is approachable and super positive,” she remarks. “I have an outstanding ability to keep everyone calm when offers are coming in and emotions are getting high.” This calmness in an otherwise fast-paced industry has worked wonders for Burke, as she’s now able to garner 90% of her business through referrals and past clients.
When she isn’t helping new clients find the home of their dreams, Burke is a caring and loving mother first. “I have two children who I love,” she says. ”They are absolutely my proudest personal accomplishment ever.”
