As a former casting director, Debra Secher negotiated contracts for actors. Now as a residential broker, she negotiates deals for real estate clients. For more than 18 years, Secher’s success has come from her belief that integrity, hard work and a commitment to excellence are at the core of her real estate business. She works with luxury-seekers, move-up buyers and sellers, and first-time buyers in the city and its surrounding areas, specializing in single-family homes, townhomes, multi-units, condos and co-ops.
Her business savvy and self-confidence led HGTV’s “House Hunters” to feature her on their show, much to her clients’ delight. Secher achieved a career milestone in 2021, earning her the Road to Rolex honor. In addition, she’s a member of the Chicago Association of Realtors and has been named a Top Producer.
When preparing her clients, Secher explains the importance of understanding current market conditions and helps them set realistic goals. Clients praise Secher for her proactive approach, patience and diligence. They also greatly value her strong negotiating skills, wise advice and professionalism. She says, “I strive to have the answer to the question before my clients ask it.”
“I’m a full-service agent with a database of attorneys, lenders, inspectors and contractors at my fingertips. Having these resources helps my clients make the choices that are best for them,” she says. Above all, Secher realizes that communication and building relationships are crucial to her success, which is why most of her clients come from referrals. “Clients consider me not only their trusted advisor, but a close friend,” she says. “I take what can be an overwhelming process and try to create a light, fun mood to put my clients at ease. The relationship with my clients becomes more than just about real estate.”
Secher volunteers at Our Place, an organization that supports teens and adults with intellectual and developmental challenges. She’s also an avid Pilates fan and is currently redecorating her home.
