Cindy Schmalz and Ryan Schmalz, Brokers

@properties Christie’s International Real Estate

Cindy and Ryan Schmalz have a combined 23 years in the real estate industry backing them up, and as brokers for @properties Christie’s International Real Estate, the mother-son duo serves first-time homebuyers, as well as those looking to move up or relocate. “Our clients know that we’re very quick and professional in all aspects,” says Cindy. “We always put our clients first because we know it isn’t about us.”

Originally a nurse, Cindy fell into real estate after being approached by a sales manager. Her caregiving background allows Cindy to truly empathize with her clients. “Being a nurse helped me learn to listen, have patience and empathy,” she states, “I’m able to take care of people both as an agent and as a person.” Growing up with a mother in the sales office and a father who was a home inspector, Ryan has a lifetime of real estate experience guiding him. “I naturally gravitated to the industry, as both of my parents have been in it for over 20 years,” he says. “I love being able to help people, especially first-time homebuyers, in realizing their dreams are achievable.”

With an open-book business style driving their work, Cindy and Ryan have learned that evolving to meet unforeseen challenges is critical to having successful transactions. “The one skill that has helped us the most is transparency and adaptability,” says Ryan. “Being able to adapt to challenges and relay information to your clients in an honest and professional manner is the most important.” Determined as ever, the mother and son duo’s efforts have not gone unnoticed, as all of their business comes from past clients and referrals.

When she isn’t helping new clients get situated, Cindy enjoys travelling to warm beaches and playing golf with her husband and two sons. Meanwhile, Ryan enjoys reading, golfing and spending time at the gym working towards his fitness goals.
