One of Rebecca Mott’s fondest childhood memories is of spending weekends searching for a new home with her mom. “I found the process of buying a new home fascinating,” says Mott, senior vice president of mortgage lending with CrossCountry Mortgage. At age 10, she knew she wanted a career in real estate. After many years of looking, her mother finally purchased a home and Mott assisted her with the loan.
Mott has 20 years of experience in lending. She specializes in a variety of mortgage products, with a large portion of her business coming from a local builder, Hartz Homes.
“I understand new construction and have perfected my process over the years,” she says. “To be successful in this industry, you must have vast knowledge of all loan programs; one loan program does not fit all.”
Mott has a knack for interpreting guidelines, so borrowers do not suffer any last-minute surprises. “I look for ways to put the borrowers in a better position by reducing the monthly payment,” she says. “Many borrowers have taken my suggestions and improved their credit scores, which allowed them to receive a lower interest rate while reducing the PMI.” At the end of the day, she just wants to make sure borrowers are comfortable with their monthly payments.
Mott began her career at Hartz Construction, selling new construction homes. “Naturally, I wanted to help buyers secure the financing so they could buy their dream home,” she says. “It was an easy transition to mortgage lending.”
She has reached CrossCountry Mortgage’s Presidents Club status 15 times but says she feels the greatest sense of accomplishment knowing she played a part in making homebuyers’ dreams come true.
A wife and mom of two wonderful teenage boys, she has 3 dogs and is in the process of training her 8-month-old golden retriever to become a visiting therapy dog.
