Erin Stojakovic knows that reliability and honesty are the keys to longevity in the mortgage industry. For 20 years, she has offered both in doing everything she can to earn her clients’ trust. As the vice president of mortgage lending at Midwest Lending, Stojakovic structures her customers’ loans to support their short-term and long-term financial needs.
A graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in hospitality business, Stojakovic, a former catering sales manager at the United Center in Chicago, transitioned to the mortgage lending industry in 2002. “Mortgage lending combines my business and sales acumen with my love of people and serving others,” she says.
Beginning her career as a senior loan officer at GMAC Mortgage, Stojakovic quickly climbed the ranks, becoming vice president of mortgage lending at Guaranteed Rate in 2008 and then a senior loan officer and branch manager at Midwest Lending five years later. In 2020, she was promoted to her current position and received the Platinum Sales award and the first annual Sapphire Circle award in recognition of her highest production year to date. “Throughout the last 20 years, I’ve been able to adapt to accommodate the industry’s evolution, as well as the highs and lows of the economy,” she declares, adding that the challenges of the pandemic were no exception. “My husband and I were able to work together to accomplish our family’s goals.”
In addition to her role as a mortgage lender, Stojakovic coaches and trains Realtors so all facets of a purchase can flow seamlessly from day one to closing. “I do everything I can to make my Realtor counterparts look like the hero to our clients,” she explains.
Above all else, Stojakovic cites her daughter, Lola, and sons, Luke and Rocco, as the reason behind her hard work. “They,” she says, “have given my life’s compass its true north.”
