Tim Ratty, Broker

For HL2R Group, real estate is a family affair. Siblings Dina and Benjamin Lissner, along with Benjamin’s husband, Michael Hoover, and Dina’s significant other, Tim Ratty, each bring their unique skill sets and backgrounds to the team. Serving buyers, sellers and investors of all kinds in both the city and suburban markets, HL2R is founded on professionalism, transparency and a hands-on, personalized approach. “No one wants to feel like they are just a number, especially when they are buying or selling something as personal as their home,” say the four brokers from Compass. “They want to know that they mean something to you beyond another successful sale.”

With Benjamin and Michael, who’s also a professional flutist and music teacher, tackling the city markets and Dina and Tim handling the North Shore suburbs, the HL2R team has their process down to a science. “With our clients, we make everything look fun and easy,” they say. “But behind the scenes, we have a number of tried-and-true strategies.”

Prior to working in residential real estate, Tim worked as a futures and options broker on the Chicago Board of Trade and Benjamin specialized in leasing and property management for the commercial market. In 2019, during HL2R’s first year as a team and first year with Compass, the Chicago Association of Realtors recognized Benjamin as a top producer. Dina, an active lifelong volunteer in the community, received the Character Counts Award from the city of Highland Park. “Every member of our team is highly ambitious, hardworking and driven,” they say, “and we universally appreciate completing a sale, helping clients find new homes, negotiating contracts and being involved in all departments from planning through construction.”

Outside of work, Michael volunteers with the Chicago Arts and Music Project in Garfield Park and enjoys exploring the city with Ben and their dog, Mabel. Tim and Dina both volunteer with Trout Unlimited and Project Healing Waters and are avid fly-fishers and outdoor explorers.
