Craig Burton, Pat Cannone & Oren Orkin, Senior Loan Consultants

LOANDEPOT

Though they began their careers in other areas of business, Oren Orkin, Craig Burton and Pat Cannone were often told by others that they would excel in the lending industry and now use their market knowledge to serve clients all throughout Chicagoland.

As senior loan consultants for loanDepot, the group holds expertise in working on mortgages for first-time buyers, new-construction deals and FHA loans, among other areas. Orkin originally worked as a sales engineer, but he realized his love for financing would translate seamlessly to lending. Burton previously held sales positions within several industries, each of which taught him how to individualize the customer experience. Cannone managed a sales staff while working as vice president and branch manager for Dreyfus Mutual Funds, but since taking a leap of faith by switching to mortgage lending, he has enjoyed building a lucrative career one loan at a time.

For Orkin, this year’s biggest accomplishment was switching from Guaranteed Rate to loanDepot. In fact, Orkin had a record January, and since March, he has been running his biggest pipeline of loans to date. Burton has recently become a proud homeowner himself, and he also achieved President’s Club status at his previous bank. Cannone has had the opportunity to co-host AM 560’s “Real Estate Revealed” show. “As a kid who grew up listening to WIND on AM 560, this is a dream come true,” he says.

The ability to exercise tenacity, ensure a consultative approach and hold a passion for customer service allows the group to earn clients’ trust. Mortgage Executive Magazine has ranked Orkin among its top 1% of mortgage originators for the past six years, and he has appeared in the Scotsman Guide for the same period of time. Cannone has earned a spot in Perl Mortgage’s Platinum Club and PHH Home Loans’ Chairman’s Club, in addition to being recognized as a Five Star Professional by Chicago magazine.
