A former registered nurse, Heidi Ziomek is a third-generation real estate practitioner and a lifelong resident of the North Shore. A broker with Dream Town Realty, Ziomek is joined in the business by Marty Walsh, a former Chicago Mercantile Exchange broker who uses his experience to help clients make sound decisions about their real estate investments.
Serving both the North Shore and the northern suburbs, the team assists all categories of buyers and sellers at all price points. In the past year, their proudest accomplishment was helping a family who initially called for a listing consultation. “They endured a personal tragedy and needed to sell their home,” Ziomek says. “We were able to help them get a grant that allowed them to stay in their home and school district, the only home and community the children had ever known. It’s not about the bottom line; it’s about helping people.”
In 2017 and 2018, Ziomek and Walsh were recognized by the Chicago Association of Realtors as a top-producing team. Walsh is an expert negotiator and industry commentator, specializing in innovative data analysis. “If you want to know what’s happening and why, Marty is the go-to guy,” Ziomek says. Walsh appreciates Ziomek’s deep-rooted local knowledge and the lifetime of experience she brings from growing up in a real estate family.
Walsh and Ziomek recently decided to reallocate resources into their referral network rather than investing in blanket advertising. “We wanted to really take care of the people who take care of us, and it has paid off,” Walsh says. “Eighty-five percent of our business is exclusively by referral.”
Certified Real Estate Negotiation Experts and Accredited Buyer’s Representatives, both Ziomek and Walsh provide clients with sophisticated technological tools, cutting-edge market analysis and firsthand neighborhood knowledge. Walsh is a past president of the North Shore-Barrington Association of Realtors and a board member of the Chicago Association of Realtors, where he plays an active role in the group’s finance committee.
Both Walsh and Ziomek support dog rescue and recovery programs. In her spare time, Ziomek enjoys running, hiking and traveling. Walsh is likewise fond of traveling and also enjoys motorcycling and racing.
