Michael Rooney has spent his entire life immersed in the world of home improvement, and after a career as a project manager for general contractors and a construction company as well as multiple side hustles as a jack of all trades, he transitioned into real estate sales full time. Now, Rooney is a broker with Quaid & Rooney Distinctive Real Estate of Keller Williams Premiere Properties and specializes in the Chicago and western suburb markets. “I made my move into real estate because I enjoy helping people and interacting with clients, so as a broker I can make this happen on a larger scale,” he says.
For the past four years, Rooney has allowed his career to develop organically, taking on all kinds of buyers and investors regardless of budget or housing interests. “I won’t turn down the opportunity to represent someone, and I find time to serve all of my clients,” he says, adding that his openness has resulted in many referrals from past clients and that they appreciate his selfless approach to business.
Relying on social media, email, postcards, broker tours and open houses, Rooney advertises listings in every way he can. “My clients like that I go above and beyond during every step of the process — even after closing,” he says. “They like that I guide them and don’t push them and know the true cost of construction no matter how small or large the task.”
Rooney is a member of the National Association of Realtors and Mainstreet Organization of Realtors, and volunteers at the local food pantry as well as with Keller Williams on Red Day.
