Julie Chesne, President

Although she is proud of many projects, Julie Chesne is particularly happy about helping a longtime family friend recently leave her home of 56 years and transition into retirement housing.

“I created a storybook marketing piece that detailed her life in the home and showed how it could provide the same shelter and focus for a new family,” says Chesne, president of JDC Realty Group, Compass. “It became a memento for her.”

Copies of it went to each of the client’s 10 children, so they too could remember their childhood home. Chesne sold the home, but what gave her even more satisfaction was comforting a friend and easing a difficult time in her life.

Chesne has worked in real estate for more than two decades, assisting investors, luxury buyers, sellers and first-time homebuyers in the Gold Coast, Lincoln Park, Lakeview, Lincoln Square, Graceland West, Loop and other neighborhoods in the city.

“I realized a larger percentage of my business was from clients I started working with very early in my career,” she says. “I have grown my business by maintaining regular contact with clients.”

She holds many designations, including Accredited Buyer’s Representation; Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist; Certified Residential Specialist; Graduate, Realtor Institute and Real Estate Negotiation Expert. A Chicago Association of Realtors Top Producer, she made Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices President Circle in 2014 and 2016, as well as Chairman’s Circle in 2015.

“My goal has always been to enhance my clients’ quality of life, as well as their economic well-being, through my 25-plus years of experience, superior service and dedication,” she says. “My mission is to develop a long-term relationship with my clients, servicing all their real estate needs.”

She has conducted real estate transactions of all levels, always striving to find the best location, price and home for her clients. “Because of my dedication and belief in hard work, I am perennially in the top 4 percent for sales in the industry,” she says. “I continuously have my fingers on the pulse of the market and trends.”

With market knowledge and experience, she values the opportunity to negotiate the best price for buyers and sellers. “It is an honor and privilege to work in this industry each and every day,” she says.

To give back, Chesne assists local schools with fundraising.
