Corey Shapiro, Eduardo Nieves & Sylvia Delgado

Citibank, NA

Corey Shapiro, Senior Home Lending Officer

Eduardo Nieves, Lending Officer

Sylvia Delgado, Community Lending Officer

Meet Corey Shapiro, Eduardo Nieves and Sylvia Delgado. These three loan officers are part of a 22-member team serving 55 Citibank branches in the Chicagoland area. Not only do they have tremendous knowledge of the local market, but their reach extends to all 50 states, as well.

These loan officers from Citibank, NA have a variety of career backgrounds: Shapiro first started his own mortgage company in Beverly Hills, California, 20 years ago, before making the move to join Citi. Nieves also owned his own mortgage brokerage in the northern suburbs, and brings 25 years of experience in residential lending, commercial lending, business banking and branch management. For Delgado, her career began in various banking roles — first as a teller and a personal banker, then in accounting and lending.

“Helping people find solutions and overcoming financial challenges felt most organic,” Delgado shares. “Particularly the idea of empowering lives and local communities through the wealth of real estate is what motivates me every day.”

Realtors call Shapiro a wizard because he “makes magic” by taking complex deals and finding ways to make them work. His deals move through the pipeline with speed and precision. “I care about people,” he says. “I’m not delivering babies or sending people to the moon. But I’m involved in a deeply personal experience with every client, and I take care to give each client my best every time.”

For Nieves, surviving the ups and downs of the industry has provided knowledge that he can now pass onto his clients. “Making the dream of homeownership a reality” is one of the things he loves most about his career. He takes pride in guiding his clients from start to finish by always setting the right expectations and keeping everyone in the transaction informed while developing long-lasting relationships.

Delgado concurs. “I care about the client — and equally care about everyone involved in the transaction,” she says. “Every transaction is equally valuable, so each client, along with every party to the transaction, is treated with the utmost respect, professionalism and inclusion.”
