Don’t Call It A Comeback

by Chicago Agent

stephanie-sims-chicago-agent-magazine-managing-editorNew construction is back! You might say that the new construction market is experiencing a comeback, but with the shortage of inventory and clients frustrated with the quality of resale homes and getting outbid in multiple offer scenarios, why wouldn’t the appeal of new construction – a brand new, often customizable home, and in many cases, special financing incentives – take off?

We asked Chicagoland’s developers to send us all their new construction properties for our New Construction Status Update (page 23), and you’ll see that there are several brand new properties in Chicagoland – many of which have just opened this year, in fact. Belgravia, M/I Homes, Ryland Homes (with six brand-new communities!), Ryan Homes and William Ryan Homes are just a few companies busy with several projects. They shared some detail about their projects in our cover story, but see all new construction properties available in the city and suburbs (more than 11,000!) here.

It’s pretty exciting to see the market changing in a consistently positive streak, and we have charts and data showing those stats for new construction in general, as well as stats from a few national builders throughout this issue, too. What do you think? With new construction sales now outpacing resales, are more of your clients interested in new construction properties now? Email me and let me know your experiences: stephanie@chicago.staging312.com.
