Blagojevich’s Ravenswood Manor Listed on the Market for $1.07 Million

by Chicago Agent

Ex-Governer Rod Blagojevich's Ravenswood home is on the market and listed at $1.07 million.

An earlier post by UrbanTurf revealed that former Governor Rod Blagojevich’s Ravenswood Manor is on the market and listed at $1.07 million.

It was reported last July that Blagojevich would be putting his Chicago home on the market after he was convicted on 17 counts of wire fraud, bribery, attempted extortion and conspiracy. A federal judge had set Blagojevich’s bond at $450,000 and ordered the ex-Governor to post his North Side home and Washington, DC condo up as collateral.

The 11-room Mediterranean five-bedroom home was built in 1929, and is located at 2934 W. Sunnyside Ave. The house went through extreme renovations after Blagojevich and his wife purchased it in 1999 for $505,000. The three fireplaces, plantation shutters, and library remain alongside the modern amenities. The manor now features an updated kitchen and bathrooms, a huge master suite, and zoned air conditioning. The home also comes with an outdoor deck, porch, brick patio and a 2,200 square-foot basement gym as well.

While the home has been the scene of massive media mobs and paparazzi, the future buyer will probably not get quite as much attention.
