Sarah Elder Lyons, Broker

Compass Real Estate

Every client Sarah Elder Lyons represents receives VIP treatment and knows that regardless of any obstacles, she will get the job done.

Lyons, a broker with Compass Real Estate, has an infectious, sunny disposition that keeps first-time, move-up, luxury and relocation clients coming back and referrals pouring in. Recently, she felt honored and privileged when a good friend referred a player for the Chicago Bears to her. “I have loved getting to know him and his wife personally and helping them navigate buying a house on the North Shore of Chicago,” she says.

Lyons has intimate knowledge of all the amenities that make her North Shore/Chicago territory a wonderful place to call home. She has lived on the North Shore since 1989 and raised three daughters there, all of whom are graduates of New Trier High School and prestigious universities. Well-known in the community, Lyons has been an active volunteer in numerous local organizations. For 16 years, she has served on the Auxiliary of the Woman’s Board of Rush University Medical Center, organizing its annual Cooks’ Tour fundraiser. She is also a mentor at Simpson Academy for Young Women.

Enamored with the creative process, Lyons launched ad campaigns for prestigious advertising agencies and marketing firms before becoming a broker. Now she utilizes those same skills to promote properties for clients on social media. A natural when it comes to buying and selling homes, Lyons grew up in the industry; property development has been in her family for over a century. “My dad was my inspiration — an architect and civil engineer — and our family owned a lumber company,” she shares. “I watched him draw homes and create amazing properties for families.”

Ranked among Top 100 Magazine’s 2021 “Top 100 in Real Estate,” Lyons was also named a 2020 “Power Woman” by Sheridan Road magazine. Still, watching her girls achieve their dreams is by far her greatest achievement.
