Guaranteed rate named Joseph Grassi as chief risk officer

Last week, mortgage lender Guaranteed Rate named Joseph Grassi to be their new chief risk officer. Grassi will work with the existing risk management team to mitigate potential issues and address compliance concerns. By taking the position, Grassi will be responsible for overseeing several of the company’s departments such as credit, international audit, and legal.

Grassi has worked in the industry for many years, having spent spent two decades as a legal advisor at Fannie Mae and most recently having served as the principal deputy general for the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development.

“We are thrilled to have Joe as part of our team,” said Guaranteed Rate Founder and CEO Victor Ciardelli. “His impressive industry experience will allow us to build on our strong compliance and risk management functions while greatly supporting our company as we continue our momentum of innovation and growth.”
